In order to deeply implement the requirements of Xi Jinping's socialist thought of the new era with Chinese characteristics, innovate and practice the long-term mechanism of party and group organisations, and improve the effectiveness and relevance of the party and group work, on December 4, the ‘Seminar on Student Party and Group Branches by Vice President Shan Pingji’ was successfully held in the Big Data Conference Room on the fifth floor of the Law School. The event was successfully held. The event was hosted by Huang Wenjie, secretary of the third party branch of LLM, and attended by Shan Pingji, vice dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of Southeast University School of Law, Wang Yuan, associate professor and master's supervisor of Southeast University School of Law, and students from the 2023 LLM reunion branch, the third party branch of LLM, and the second party branch of LLM without a bachelor's degree.

This activity centred on the students' problems in civil law study and selection and public examination. In a relaxed and free atmosphere, students asked the two teachers about the selection and transfer situation of the college, the preferred strategy of famous schools, academic arrangements and other questions of practical significance, and the two teachers answered patiently and meticulously, which benefited the attending students a lot.

Mr Gan Dingyi asked the two teachers about the situation of selection and preparation for selection in our college in recent years. Mr Shan pointed out that the employment situation of our students has been improving steadily in recent years, and encouraged students to be diligent and hardworking, and to learn professional skills well. He made a special emphasis on the master's stage to do a good job of pre-planning, reminding students to make use of the limited time to solve their worries in advance, and to prepare for the tasks of postgraduate studies early.

Shen Liaojia asked the two teachers for advice on the academic achievements at master's level and the balance between scientific research and preparation for the public examination. Mr Shan pointed out the importance of master's degree results and encouraged students to practice more, communicate more with teachers and transform problems into academic results. Mr Wang analysed the current trend of public examination and selection, and suggested to clarify the goal and balance the energy invested in each task.

Lv Cheng asked the two teachers for advice on how to further choose the path of academic research. Teacher Wang gave a detailed answer in terms of opportunity issues, regional economy, academic resources and so on. Mr Shan encouraged students to try more and choose the path they love most.

At last, the two teachers summarised the questions raised by the students, and at the same time, they wished the students to clarify their personal development goals, explore the direction of their future career, and improve their core competitiveness by writing in their future study and life, which conveyed the two teachers' ardent expectations for the students to be successful in their studies, choose their career smoothly, and grow up to be young talents of the Party and the country in the new era.

This activity, as part of the thematic education work, further promotes the construction of student party and group branches to go deep and practical, and at the same time provides a powerful support for exploring the new mode of ‘the leadership of the college docking party and group branches’ and strengthening the leadership of the party and group. Later, the college will continue to grasp the overall pattern of party and group co-construction, focusing on students‘ innovation and entrepreneurship, academic development, career planning, employment assistance, etc., to carry out more practical and effective activities of the college leadership docking students’ party and group branches, give full play to the role of party and government cadres in ideological and political education, and vigorously and orderly to promote the college party and group work to continuously improve the quality of the work of the college and increase efficiency.
